Welcome to MMPA Acoustic Consulting Services

Expert Acoustic Consulting, Noise Control, Intelligibility, Sound Measurements, and Design Services

With our expert guidance and state-of-the-art solutions, we ensure that every space resonates with clarity, comfort, and quality sound. From entertainment venues to corporate boardrooms, from sacred sanctuaries to recording studios, we tailor our acoustic consulting expertise to meet your unique noise control and acoustic needs.

Entertainment

Acoustic considerations in the entertainment industry are affected by venue function, design, and location. Understanding client end requirements are key to a well-designed facility.

MMPA’s extensive experience includes full acoustic services from acoustic reviews on new builds at the concept stage through to venue completion. We also provide solutions and detailed acoustic remedial works for existing venues.

Other services include environmental impact assessments, structural design elements and internal venue acoustic treatments.

Hospitality

From restaurants that require specific acoustic design to enhance the guest experience to hotels where noise ingression into rooms and isolation from external noise sources is critical to guest comfort and privacy. MMPA considers every element from windows and doors, to HVAC and plumbing specifications.

Our goal is to marry the best of all worlds to deliver a solution that meets the system performance and client requirements within budgets and project deadlines.

Noise and Intelligibility control

Acoustics Noise Control

External noise ingression is one of the major disruptive factors affecting acoustics. MMPA will investigate and identify noise sources and advise on practical, efficient and cost effective solutions to mitigate and offset noise.

MMPA are specialists in designing for Intelligibility, understanding and managing parameters contributing to a successful space. This includes but is not limited to reverberation, echo and sound propogation.

We strive to understand the client’s requirements for the acoustics in a specific space. We then categorise and provide solutions for any unique noise characteristics that may require a more specialised approach.

CORPORATE

The adverse effects of extraneous noise on productivity, health and privacy in the office is well documented. MMPA’s understanding of the potential sources enables us to create and deliver effective noise control solutions.

For Low Frequency noise from generators , traffic noise or mechanical noise that could compromise the corporate environment, MMPA will implement practical and effective noise control strategies.

AUDITORIUMS

The sanctity of these spaces require specialised acoustic solutions that can accommodate the various performance dynamics unique to this arena.

From design concepts around the space itself, to construction materials and noise control, to the stage, walls, floor and doors, MMPA provides unique insights and expertise to ensure outstanding performance results and dynamic multi-functional system design.

RADIO STUDIOS

Radio, like all broadcast spaces, have several acoustic criteria that are specific to radio broadcast. These include:
Noise Isolation – isolating noise from offices, external noise like traffic, weather or airplane noise is important for any kind of live microphone work. Noise isolation not only takes airborne noise into account, but also structural borne noise.

  • Internal acoustics – the room aspect ratio, room frequency response and reverberation (RT60)
  • Direct reflections from hard surfaces like windows.
  • Induced noise from the HVAC.

All the acoustic criteria are married with the requirements of the client to design and engineer an acoustic model for the radio studio. This will ensure that the studio’s live microphone broadcasts and recordings are crisp and clear. All acoustic designs are incorporated into an interior design, with the aid of a professional interior designer, to reflect the radio studio or radio station’s identity.

RECORDING STUDIOS

Maajabu Recording Studio Control Room

In a Recording Studio, the acoustics play one of the most important roles on what the recorded material will sound like. This is true for the studios as well as the control room. The acoustic criteria include:

  • Noise Isolation – isolating noise any external sources such as sound from other studios or control rooms, offices, thunder, or traffic noise is critical in a recording studio. Nobody wants to edit out noise or have any unwanted noise creep into a recorded song. Noise isolation includes both airborne and structural borne noise.
  • Internal acoustics – the room aspect ratio, room frequency response and reverberation (RT60). Different recording studios require different acoustic setups. A stereo facility will be different to a THX certified recording studio and that will be different to a post-production facility with Atmos Immersive Sound.
  • Direct reflections from hard surfaces such as windows and equipment.
  • Induced noise from the HVAC.

As Recording and Post Production Facilities require critical recording and listening acoustic environments, MMPA will design and engineer the perfect acoustic solution for the facility.

TV and FILM STUDIOS

TV and Film Studios or Stages are generally large areas that could make the acoustic design quite challenging. There is just so much more chance of noise creeping into the studio or having reverb times that make any kind of recording meaningless. Like radio and recording studio acoustic designs, TV and Film Studios will have their own acoustic figures and they would include:

  • Noise Isolation – Large structures need special acoustic designs for isolating noise any external sources such as sound from other studios, set-building areas, control rooms, offices, thunder or traffic noise. Nobody wants to do a retake a scene on a recording due to unwanted noise. Noise isolation includes both airborne and structural borne noise.
  • Internal acoustics – the room aspect ratio, room frequency response and reverberation (RT60). Controlling reverberation and reflected sound in TV and Film Studios is important for recording voice and any other sound effect. Although the studios are primarily for shooting visuals, the visuals would mean nothing if the sound from the recording is bad and of poor quality.
  • Induced noise from the HVAC.

TV and Film Studios are large structures and in conjunction with experienced structural engineers, MMPA will design and engineer the perfect acoustic solution for the facility.
